Refunds: An Overview Of The System

For better or worse, Paypal (and every other major payment system) is in favor of the seller. This happens to work out very well for both the buyers and sellers of Text Link Center. It creates an environment where buyers feel confident in buying a link from a person they do not know because if there is a problem, the buyer can always get their money back. (Note: Of course, we are assuming the complaint is filed in an reasonable amount of time. Even though Paypal gives substantially more time, always recommend filing a complaint with Paypal the second you feel uncomfortable with a transaction.)


If there is a major issue where the buyer and seller do not see eye to eye, a solution is not all that complicated. So if there is ever a conflict, we require the seller to refund the buyer immediately on request. Luckily adding a link to an existing web page takes less than 1 minute.


If the seller refuses to give a refund, Text Link Center has to assume that the seller is up to something. Yes, the seller did waste the 1 minute it took to add a link to a given webpage, but we consider this as part of the cost of doing business. We feel that the potential for building long lasting link relationships is well worth having to add and remove a few links after a buyer has had a chance to take a look at the "merchandise". Furthermore, anyone who doesn't guarantee their work probably isn't doing that good of job.


There is no other way to maintain an aggressively secure link buying and selling system without requiring payment from the buyer first. Likewise, there is no way any buyer would be willing to do this without having a 100% "No Questions Asked" refund if the link does not live up to the expectations of the buyer.




Possible Abuses
There are handful of possible abuses. The worst case is the seller puts up a few links and has to remove them. It's possible that the buyer could be a Vigilante Hero and could be looking for sites that buy and sell paid text links. Because of this, we keep a VERY close eye on anyone who is asking for multiple refunds and we ban them quickly.
